Summary: All four chapters of the Trine series! With the full quadrilogy in one convenient bundle, Trine: Ultimate Collection is the definitive way for new players and veterans alike to experience all four games in the Trineverse. The story is nothing to write home about but ultimately the joy of the game comes from swinging through the world, bashing the teeth out of goblins and levitating boulders into faces. While this is not the end of the world, it does mean that a careful and methodical approach to each level is best to ensure enough potions (experience) are found to dump into multiple skills. Later levels clearly favor or require some skills to be leveled but what would be most helpful is not always clear further, some skills are not well explained within the skills tree only revealing their full potential after being purchased. The primary complaint for this reviewer is related to the leveling system. Levels move forward with good momentum and rarely overstay their welcome. While it does seem like playing co-op would be the most fun, each puzzle usually has multiple solutions so even playing solo there is a sense of accomplishment to piecing together how to proceed. Switching between the Wizard, Thief and Warrior each with their own diverse set of skills and abilities makes tackling each puzzle fresh. Trine 2 blends elements of puzzle platforming with such finesse that there is no wonder why the series has so many entries to its name. Just a fun, great platformer and that's coming from a person who hates them. Plus, like I said, it's fun! There is some decent comic relief in the game's dialogue too. Quite addicting and just beautiful! Don't be surprised if you find yourself stopping mid game and going "oooo" and "ahhh' cause it's just gorgeous. I tried it on Steam's free weekend and I uninstalled every other game I tried but Trine 2. Each characters abilities must be used and, the puzzles are fun! This game is a work of art, truly. Not Trine 2, lemme tell ya! The level of depth and beauty this game possesses will drop your jaw! It is positively the best platform game I have ever played! The ability to switch characters to get past certain parts is awesome for the puzzling. Let me start off by saying, I am NOT a platform gamer by any means (aside from Super Mario Bros.) I think most platformers are boring and Let me start off by saying, I am NOT a platform gamer by any means (aside from Super Mario Bros.) I think most platformers are boring and uninteresting.
